Contrary to the other reviews you can actually get really good coffee at the top cafe. It had fresh beans and the girl/barista serving also produced amazing latte art. Not something I expected for an attraction cafe.
Paid €10.45 for a pleasant carrot cake slice and cappuccino at the downstairs café and I was then directed to a paper cup petrol-station style self-service coffee machine. Didn't realise I could get a proper coffee upstairs. Anyway, as expected, the coffee was an underwhelming experience and way overpriced. €3.50 for a very small bag of jellies from the sweet vender in the car park for one of the kids. Came away from Avondale with the impression that it is bit of a tourist shake-down. The €18 tree top walk is nice but at just over 400m long, it is all over very quickly. Granted that €18 also includes access to the spiral walk up to the top of the slide as well, but it still isn’t cheap.
Cookies much nicer than expected for a place like this. Lovely outdoor seating area and friendly staff. Small selection of food but plenty of drinks to choose from.
